About the Traveling Praters
The Traveling Praters was never intended to be seen by outside eyes. Living in a 31-foot motorhome with my husband, three homeschooled teenage children, and a rescued pound puppy, this blog began as an outlet to keep me sane and to allow friends and family “back home in Ohio” a glimpse of our new life, as we traveled with my husband’s job.
That was over eight years ago. My family survived 18-months as a full-time RVers, my kids have grown up and mostly moved out, and the blog has shifted from a personal journal to a valuable resource for those seeking information on:
- Road Trips
- Things to do and see in Ohio
- Traveling with Teens and Grown Children
- Empty Nest Travel
- Travel throughout the U.S.
- Cooking in a Hotel Room
- Roadside Attractions
Connect with The Traveling Praters
2017 promises to be a busy year. Two of my kids are leaving home to serve in the mission field in Mexico, while the other serves our country in the military, leaving my husband and me to adjust to life as empty nesters. We have big travel plans, which include a New England van camping road trip so we can say we’ve visited 49 of the 50 states (Hawaii will have to wait), a trip to Mexico to visit our kids, and we’re gearing up for a 300-mile bike ride from Pittsburgh to Washington DC. I hope it doesn’t kill me.
