My kids have had a busy summer. I guess that kind of means I’ve been having a busy summer. Between graduating one child, three kids with jobs, summer camp and an upcoming family mission trip to Honduras, we’ve had a lot going on and a lot to plan for. Life at our house has been busy, busy, busy. And with all the planning and packing, the last thing I’ve wanted to do this week is cook meals.
When I was chosen by the Collective Bias® community, Social Fabric®, to create an easy chicken snack that my teens could grab -n- go using Tyson’s new Chicken Fries as part of a sponsored post, I was happy to have a break from cooking a meal from scratch. Sometimes a busy momma just needs something that’s convenient.
I drove to Sam’s Club and picked up a bag of Tyson’s Chicken Fries , the secret ingredient in what I hoped would be some great tasting chicken wraps.
I actually created two different chicken wraps, a Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap and a Chicken Fry Veggie Wrap over the course of two days.
I could have popped the chicken fries in the microwave to save time but popped the Tyson Chicken Fries in the oven instead. They were cooked in less than 15 minutes. I added some bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and Ranch dressing to a tortilla wrap and popped the wrap in my little George Foreman grill for a couple minutes just to toast it lightly.
The critical moment had arrived, the moment that makes every mom pause and hold her breath. It was time for the taste test and my teens were skeptical.
They took a bite of the chicken snack and the verdict was in. My daughter loved it. And so did her brothers. And so did my husband.
I couldn’t believe that I found an easy snack chicken wrap that my whole family would love. I had created a winner!
Plus, it’s so easy, my kids can make their own wraps that they can grab as they’re heading off to work, to the gym, or
on the way out to watch a movie with their friends.
My family loved the Chicken Bacon Ranch snack wraps so much that they asked for more wraps the next day. I had plenty of veggies on hand to use up before our trip to Honduras so I popped some more chicken fries in the oven and sliced up some delicious veggies; yellow bell peppers, a sweet onion, Romaine lettuce, and cucumbers. I layered the veggies on a wrap with some Ranch dressing, 4 Tyson Chicken Fries, some mild cheddar cheese and some crispy tortilla strips.
I folded the wrap and slightly toasted it in the George Foreman Grill. Once again, my entire family was thrilled.
This may have been the first time that my family has tried Tyson Chicken Fries, but it certainly won’t be the last. My family loved them and I appreciate how easily I can make a great meal that can be made ahead for meals on the go. Next time we’re packing up for a road trip, you can bet I’ll have a delicious chicken snack or two packed for each member of my family. And I promise you, I won’t hear a single complaint.
This is also an easy meal to add to my Cooking in a Hotel Room series.
